The reaction mixture was diluted with water, extracted with ethyl acetate (80 mL x 3) and the organic layers combined, dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate, concentrated under vacuum to give the residue, which was applied onto a silica gel column with 1 % ethyl acetate in petroleum ether to afford 2-(chroman-6-yl)-4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-l,3,2-dioxaborolane as colorless oil (320 mg, 59%).*H-NMR (300 MHz, CDC13): delta 7.54 (d, J = 7.5 Hz, 2H), 6.78 (d, J = 8.4 Hz, 1H), 4.19 – 4.23 (t, J = 5.4 Hz, 2H), 2.78 – 2.83 (t, J = 6.3 Hz, 2H), 1.98 – 2.05 (m, 2H), 1.28 (s,12H) |
